The Tulip fountain is an emblematic monument of Shymkent. It’s located in the city center, at the corner of Tauke Khan and Momyshuly avenues.
Putting up for the City’s Day in 2010, the tulip has replaced a fountain symbolizing the cotton that was there for over 20 years.
With a height of 10m, it’s the tallest fountain of Shymkent. Its structure is designed to resist to a strong sunlight and to extreme temperatures.
To maintain its shine and its elegance, the tulip requires a regular surface cleaning to remove marks left by water. This maintenance is a real expert work that can take 3 days.
Over the year, the fountain square is decorated with seasonal flowers or special lighting, which give a unique character to the place. In spring, flower beds are filled with tulips, of course!
